Detroit Red Wings start off the playoffs today against the Calgary Flames at 7pm EST. Detroit might not have its Grind Line anymore. I think i’m ready for playoff hockey.

I’m not sure if i can agree. The last two times the Wings won the Stanley Cup it took us far too long to get home because I vividly remember cars just cruising around honking horns waving Red Wings flags, etc.
You mention the 1am game. Great game, but perhaps the Wings could just get it done in shorter time?

I’ve got respect for Detroit since it was where greats like Gordie Howe and Stevie Y. played but Vancouver > Detroit when it comes to being a hockey town. Canucks fans stay up til 1am on a WEDNESDAY because the game isn’t over yet…the Canucks are always front page on our newspapers during the playoffs regardless of what’s going on. Ask any player in the NHL which building is the loudest.
